Phase I Interceptive Treatment
Phase I treatment is not for everyone. It is usually done between the ages of 6-10 years old and is a limited form or treatment only meant to address a few specific goals that cannot be obtained later in life. Certain dental conditions need this initial phase of treatment to create space for teeth that are impacted or blocked out, or if the position of a child's teeth is causing their bite to shift, and their jaw to grow abnormally. Usually children who undergo Phase I treatment will typically need a second phase of treatment ("Phase II" or "Comprehensive Treatment") in the future.
